From  the historical perspective, commerce has always been affected by improvements in communications and vice versa.  The  desire  of  ancient merchants,  to  reach  more  and  varied  customers,  propelled  them  to  undertake
major hazardous journeys across the oceans and mountains. This desire resulted in heavy investments in transport and communications  industries.  The continuing  interplay  of commercial success and communications technology is
going to push the new means of communicating for rich content and on multiple media. 

Mobile  Computing  is  the  new  communications  technology  that  is  driving  the commercial  world  into  new,  hitherto  unexplored,  arena  of  anywhere, all time, anyway and anyhow reach to the potential customers. This new technology and unexplored business arena, is giving all businessmen a feeling that the potential of this computing, communications and commerce marriage is going to affect the ways  the  business  is  conducted  in multiple  dimensions.  These  dimensions  are uncertain,  unknown  and  unpredictable  as  of  now.  This  uncertainty  gives  the potential to come up with applications, business models, personalized customer care systems, and multitude of new business systems that would amplify  the business revenues.

We define mobile computing  to be seamless provisioning of existing networked or distributed computing system through non-wired connections to a user who is mobile.
